Should I buy larger silver bullion bars versus smaller ones?

Should I buy larger silver bullion bars versus smaller ones?

If you can afford so, the answer is yes!

As with just about anything else you ever buy in life, there is usually a discount when you buy bulk quantity. The same holds true for buying silver bullion pieces.

The spread (the % between buying and selling) is lower when you buy the larger bars of silver. If you are strictly an investor and have no interest in buying coins or medals for display or collecting purposes, then this is your best choice.

Having been in the industry for the past 50 years, we are a bit partial to Engelhard 100 oz. bars. These bars are pretty safe and secure and not much chance of a forgery or counterfeit. We also like 100 oz. bars from the Royal Canadian mint. When you make this larger purchase, just make sure to buy from a reputable dealer.

All this said, however, there are potential bargains to be had both on-line and at your local coin & bullion shops for 1oz, 5oz, 10oz bars where the rate per troy ounce is almost at the same rate of these larger Kilo and 100 oz. bars. Just keep your eyes open and look for the deals to emerge every once in a while, especially when there is a big spike up or down in the metals prices. Best of luck shopping for silver!
